Made From Earth Holistic Honey Body Lotion Review

The combination of my dry hands and what my husband calls “dragon feet” I’m always on the quest to find the perfect lotion. I think I came close once in an Aveeno anti-itch lotion, but the price tag on it was steep.

Made from Earth offered to let me try their holistic honey body lotion. It’s actually made from organic honey. I love the taste of honey, especially in teas or on chicken, so I thought it would be fun to try it in a lotion.

Instant Trainer Dog Leash Review

Somehow I have found two extremely strong dogs that nearly yank my arm out of the socket when we go for walks. Asia has calmed down a lot over the years, but when we first got her, taking her outside on her leash or on walks was almost impossible.

Harley is about a year and a half old and going on walks is still very new and exciting for him. He’s also incredibly strong and pulls like crazy. I recently had the opportunity to try the instant trainer dog leash and thought it would be a good opportunity to work with Harley. The leash attaches to any collar. You position the ring on the dog’s lower back and then loop the leash under their ribs. The idea is that when they pull, they get a gentle tug on their mid-section.

BzzAgent Campaign – Garnier Fructis Triple Nutrition Review

I love being a BzzAgent. I’ve been signed up for over five years and I’ve gotten to try some really great items. I haven’t been as active as I should be with it, but I have a blog now so it’s much easier to participate in the campaigns and help spread some Bzz!

My most recent campaign is for Garnier Fructis Triple Nutrition shampoo and conditioner. I have admitted previously that my hair doesn’t like me much because I don’t spend a lot of money on it. I usually buy cheap shampoo & conditioner and my hair reflects it. I was so happy to get into this campaign. I’ve used Garnier Fructis before and it always has a positive effect on my hair.

Wood Box & Playing Cards from Novica – Review

Novica is one of those places that you can internet window shop all day long. They graciously offered me a gift certificate to purchase something from their website for a review. Honestly, it took me so long to try to pick something that I eventually gave up. There was literally so much that I wanted, that I just couldn’t decide.

There is fashion from around the world and home decor. They have jewelry and accessories. I kept picking out an item that I wanted for myself, then I would change my mind. Then I found something I wanted to gift to someone and on it went. These are hand-crafted items by artisans all over the world.

Duraflame Roasting Logs & S’Mores Kit Review

Ok, so sometimes I have difficulty getting Richard and Jake excited to help me with my product reviews. Even when the item is specifically for them, as I’ve explained before, they are extremely hard to impress. This time was completely different. I recently had the chance to review Duraflame’s roasting logs and they graciously sent me a S’Mores kit along with it. The second I opened the package, both Richard and Jake were on board. I wonder if I should be concerned that they were so excited to start a fire?

SmartBones Review & Giveaway

Asia and Harley are spoiled. They get treats often and before we got Harley, Asia would get chewies often. It was extremely difficult to find one that took her longer than half an hour or so to destroy. She would eat through an entire hamhock within 45 minutes and there would be nothing left of it. After we got Harley, we got them each a chewy and Asia promptly took Harley’s away from him. Since then Harley hasn’t been interested and would run away if I tried to give him one.

Nivea for Men – Review

I like getting products to review and sharing my opinions about them, but I love sharing things with my family. I recently had the opportunity to share some of the new Nivea for Men line with Richard and Jake. Both of them are hard to impress. In 35 years, Richard has become jaded somehow. It takes a lot for him to give more than a mere nod or a shrug of the shoulder if I ask him what he thinks. Jake is the same way, though I blame his on being a teenager and hope he grows out of it. If either of them express interest in something, it means a lot.

Tailgating Made Sweeter with Hershey’s S’mores

Oh S’mores, such great memories you bring. I’ve made S’mores every way possible, or so I thought. I’ve made them over the stove and in the microwave. I’ve made them the campfire way as well. It was always fun finding the perfect stick to skewer the marshmallows. Inevitably, they were set on fire and had to be quickly blown out, but I still ate them.

Popcorn with Pizzazz, Kernel Season’s Seasoning & Giveaway

I love popcorn, my favorite is movie theater popcorn drenched in butter with Reese’s Pieces dumped in it. But who can afford $17 for popcorn? Ok, I exaggerate a little, but it’s still pretty pricey. To solve our popcorn cravings, Richard bought a Presto Stirring Popcorn maker and it has been the answer to our popcorn problem.

Teenager vs The School Uniform

Last year our town opted to enforce a new school dress code. The middle school Jake was at allowed the school to decide if it would implement uniforms that year or the following. They chose to wait until the next year. Jake got to finish out eighth grade wearing what he wanted.

This fall, Jake started high school (yikes, I know!) and with it came a new dress code. There was outrage at the initial rules and changes were made. Eventually, rather than having a list of what students could wear, parents were given a HUGE list of what was unacceptable. Pretty much all they are left to wear are slacks and polo shirts, with only certain colors allowed. At Jake’s school, they can wear white, black, gray, or any shade of pink for tops.
