All opinions expressed are those of the reviewer, honest and unbiased due to compensation. My youngest brother and his wife welcomed their daughter into the world in July. I mean, I look over at my son Jake and it still boggles my mind that he's a grown man. But the idea that my baby brother is a father genuinely causes my brain neurons to misfire. There are a bevy of new products and services available to parents these days including the iPhone app BabyTime. BabyTime allows parents to track pretty much everything about their newborn from breastfeeding and nursing to sleep schedule and medications. Anything concerning the daily activity of your baby can be recorded, tracked, and analyzed using BabyTime. That activity is then readily available via a customizable pie chart, interval, or line chart graph. Use the app to alert you when your baby … [Read more...]

Softsoap Luminous Oils Body Wash Review

The reviewer has been compensated in the form of a gift card/money/coupon and/or received the product/service at a reduced price or for free. All opinions expressed are those of the reviewer, honest and unbiased due to compensation. Softsoap® is my go-to for both body wash and hand soap. It's affordable and does the job I need it to. Although the warmer months are winding down, there are two newer varieties to keep your skin radiant - Softsoap® Luminous Oils™ Macadamia Oil & Peony Body Wash and Luminous Oils™ Avocado Oil & Iris Body Wash. Both have a hint of luxurious oils - macadamia and avocado extracts respectively - that keep your skin glowing and feeling smooth. Both come in a sleek bottle with a flip top lid. I do actually prefer a pump style bottle in the shower, but that's me being nit-picky. I use a bath pouf and a light swirl of the body wash was plenty to get a nice, sudsy lather. This is thick body wash, a little goes a long way. I imagine it would be easy … [Read more...]

A Jackpot in Every Candle

The reviewer has been compensated in the form of a gift card/money/coupon and/or received the product/service at a reduced price or for free. All opinions expressed are those of the reviewer and honest in nature. I've long been a fan of prizes. Whether playing games such as bingo or scratch tickets, winning something, anything has always made my day. Combine that with a love of deliciously scented wax and you end up with Jackpot Candles. I have a love/hate relationship with all things scented. I love good smelling products, but I'm extremely sensitive to strong smells. Anywho, I was super excited to work with Jackpot Candles and see if 1. I can tolerate their level of scent and 2. what kind of prize I'd receive! They have an extensive list of scents that sound amazing. With choices such as Vanilla Cupcake and Warm Apple Pie how could you go wrong? I ended up choosing Salted Caramel because I'm a fan of contrasting sweet and salty. Their candle is described as: A perfect fragrance … [Read more...]

New Old Orchard Frozen Mixers

The reviewer has been compensated in the form of a gift card/money/coupon and/or received the product/service at a reduced price or for free. All opinions expressed are those of the reviewer and honest in nature. Richard and Jake both love blended margaritas - without alcohol of course. Jake's such a fan that we actually put together a margarita gift box last Christmas complete with mixer, salt, and glasses. That's why I was super excited to learn that Old Orchard Brands now has a blend and serve line of frozen mixers with flavors including Margarita, Pina Colada, and Strawberry Daiquiri. I wanted to review them and share my findings, but Richard hasn't been able to find them at the store yet. As soon as he does, I'll be giving them a try with the exception of Pina Colada - because coconut, eww. The new Old Orchard Frozen Mixers are available at Walmart and other fine retailers starting in July. They are all sold in 12-ounce plastic cans for $1.98 each. When we drink Old … [Read more...]

InkJoy by Papermate – The Joy of Writing

I received this product for free from Smiley360 in exchange for my honest review. You can join Smiley360 here. Writing - actual pen to paper writing - used to be something I did on a regular basis. Whether it was for school or hobby, it seemed I was always writing something. That has changed a lot with technology and these days the bulk of what I handwrite are to-do or shopping lists. My hands cramp from carpal tunnel when I write much more than that, plus there's no need. I can send a text or message just as easily. That being said, I do still write those lists and when I do I expect my pens to work. I'm sure you know how frustrating it is when a pen doesn't work - I always give it a few tries, scribbling in a circle trying to get it to work again. Then I hunt for a new pen. I almost always end up empty, pens are never around with you need them! With InkJoy pens by Paper Mate, I don't have to worry about pens giving out or the ink being goopy. I was sent a variety of InkJoy pens … [Read more...]
