Hey, guess what? This is a review. I was sent samples of the prize products below. I received no monetary compensation. All opinions expressed are solely my own based upon my experience with the product.
I’ve long since loved Schwann’s food. We used to get it a lot when I was younger and I was always so excited to see the orange circle on the calendar. It marked the next day our Schwann’s man would be visiting us.
Even though back to school events have started, the weather here is still very hot, summer isn’t over yet. Treat your family to Schwann’s Home Service’s Summertime Ice Cream Shoppe. Match traditional flavors with cookie dough options like Oatmeal Raisin. Or mix new ice cream flavors such as Cinnamon Roll with Schwann’s Monster Mania cookie dough.
I was very excited to pick a flavor of ice cream and a cookie dough to sample. I chose the new S’mores ice cream and paired it with Peanut Butter Chocolate Chunk Supreme cookies. Odd combination, I know, but hey…I don’t like my desserts plain.
I tried the S’mores ice cream first. The summer just makes me think of S’mores and I love that there are tons of items that incorporate the s’mores flavor. Of course I still love an actual s’more but we only do that once or twice a year. I’m sure by now you know that I have a sweet tooth, but when I say this ice cream is sweet…I mean it’s SWEET. The marshmallow actually tastes toasted, I loved that part. My bowl had a good ratio of chocolate to graham. And honestly, that’s the only bowl I got. Jake devoured the rest. I asked him if he liked it, but he just grinned and cackled as he ran away with the whole container.
My oven was on its way out and refused to light right around the same time I got the cookies. So I did what any normal person would do. I ate them raw. Just kidding. Ok, not kidding, I did have one or two raw. I couldn’t help it! But I popped the rest in the toaster oven a handful at a time and they turned out great. Peanut Butter Chocolate Chunk Supreme cookies are named perfectly. They are smooth with the taste of peanut butter and full of chocolate chunks and peanut butter chips. The first batch were crispy (I had to get used to baking times on the toaster oven) and they were good, but I liked them better when they were soft and chewy.
I wanted to have both the ice cream and the cookies together, but it just didn’t work out that way. They were both very good, maybe next time!
What ice cream and cookie dough flavors would you pair together?
