My body has changed a lot over the years, I’ve fluctuated weight from 115 in my teens to over 200 pounds, but never felt comfortable in my skin at any size. When I was a kid, I was constantly in a bathing suit and always in the sun. I haven’t spent much time in any kind of swimwear in the last decade, especially in the most recent years due to my weight. No matter what style I chose, I felt that it was unflattering to my shape.
Hapari Swimwear graciously offered me a gift certificate to choose a suit for review.
From their website:
It’s our mission at Hapari to help women everywhere feel attractive in their swimwear by offering stylish tankinis, bikinis, one piece swimsuits, and bottoms. No matter what your body shape, you will look and feel great in our modest swimsuits that enhance the curves you love while hiding those you don’t. Since we offer an impressive selection of plus size swimwear and junior styles, you will always be able to find the perfect size.
I was skeptical that I would find something that I liked, but it didn’t take long. I was surprised at my choice as well. I’m usually not a fan of the color red, but I found the Mango Mudd SOS Tankini Top to my liking. The red goes great with the brown. It has a built in bra, which I like and also covers my stomach. The back can be a little hard to tie yourself.
I wanted something simple to go with the top and so I chose the brown cover up shorts. In retrospect, I should have gotten a swimsuit bottom as well, but these shorts are a perfect pair with the tankini top. The shorts are a little big and I wish they had a drawstring to tighten them. I thought about returning them, but decided to keep the shorts as I doubt I’ll be swimming much. I mostly wanted something I could sit outside in.
Keep your eyes open to win a gift certificate of your own. Hapari has offered to sponsor a prize in the Sunsational Summer event, running in June.
