Why I Would Want to Live in Charlotte, North Carolina

I’m not very fond of Iowa. I don’t like the winters or anything that comes with it. Well, I love the holidays, but you can have those without ice storms and snow. I grew up in Georgia and I’ve always wanted to move back south. Most of my family is here in the Midwest though. I promised Jake I would never move him in high school and since he just started his freshman year, we are here at least until he graduates.

Though Georgia is on my list of places I would move to, North Carolina has always been towards the top of the list. I was there many years ago for an architecture convention and it is one of the most beautiful places I’ve ever seen. Everything was so green and the city itself had tons to experience. It was the first time I ever went to a Dean & Deluca. I love the fact that I could get to the ocean much easier than landlocked Iowa. I don’t know if I would want to buy a house right away, I would most likely rent. As much as I hate throwing money away on renting, owning a house is a pain sometimes. It’s great to call the property managers when there’s an issue with the place. Then I could always look to buy later.

Luckily, I have several years to plan and find the right rental management. Until then, I’ll use my imagination to overcome the winters.

I like the Carolina’s too. I particularly like Hilton Head, but so expensive. I would appreciate living by the ocean if I could. I hate the cold too.

I would love to at least vist North Carolina. I’m a big fan of Nicholas Sparks and most of his books are based there and I absolutely love the way he describes it. I would actually just love to live anywhere along the beach. Maybe I’ll move when I win the lotto.. :)

I have lived in NH all of my life so never really wanted to live anywhere else. I did visit NC last June for the Type-A Parent conference and seemed to love the atmosphere in that particular city/town because everyone local was so friendly and nice!
